By placing carefully vetted guardians into these otherwise vacant spaces, the Guardians provide a visible, on-site presence that deters damage, squatting and deterioration, often eliminating the need for the costly security measures and reducing insurance premiums. This arrangement is mutually beneficial, with the Guardians themselves gaining access to unique living arrangements at below-market rates, with the understanding that properties can be reclaimed with a minimum of 28 days’ notice.
